"Bell Tower" Drum and Bell Tower Tip by nattybabe

Drum and Bell Tower, Xi'an: 59 reviews and 117 photos

The Bell Tower (36m high) dating from 1384 marks the centre of Xi-an. It was moved from it's present site (from 2 blocks west) in 1582 and restored in 1739.

In the past a large iron bell would be sounded to mark the time. Now you can pay to ring it yourself at any time of the day (Y15 for 3 goes).

Access to the tower is actually directly from the underpass on the north side.

Entry is Y15 or Y25 for both the Drum and Bell Towers.
