The great Procession (Heiligdomsvaart) is once in the 7 years. Its the public display of the relics from the St Servatius Church mainly. In the middle ages originated it was believed the relics had the power to cut=re the believers and to safeguard the city from disasters. Such a procession is held in many catholic towns in the Netherlands, but the Masstricht one is the most famous and gets nowadays over 200.000 visitors.
