"Fira de Sant Ponc - May 11 every year" Barcelona Local Custom Tip by Misha_abq

Barcelona Local Customs: 343 reviews and 313 photos

Sant Ponc is the saint for beekeepers and herbalists. As an outdoor market aficionado--I live for this bit of local custom. On May 11, you walk through the Carerrer de L'Hospital and the narrow cobblestone street is filled with dozens of different booths selling honeys, candied fruit booths, and herbs. The herbalists display stuff for all you aches and pains and several beekeepers brought closed frames with the bees inside. It was intoxicating and delightful with ambiance.
