Egyptian Necklaces of cornelian in Moscow Museum
by Kuznetsov_Sergey

Favorite thing: In Egypt there were found and exhibited in various museums necklaces of cornelian and feldspar strung on a wire. As it is known, cornelian is a very firm stone (7 on scale Moos). It is very uneasy to drill a through aperture in cornelian.

Till the second half of the XX century holes in beads of firm stones were made from two sides. Because of discrepancies channels were rough and threads were frayed and cut. Only ultrasound gives equal channels.

By what means did ancient Egyptians drill cornelian?
