Schönbrunn palace is the summer residence of the Habsburg family ? it?s a beautiful residence in baroque style surrounded by a large park with statues, roses and flowers everywhere. There?s also a large and impressive fountain, just opposite the palace, at the other end of the garden. The Emperor Franz Joseph was born here in 1830, and with Sissi he spent his summers, as well as his later years in this building.

It is possible to visit the palace, but it seems that it?s not very different from the Hofburg palace (the winter residence). Most people go to Schönbrunn to admire its gardens, and maybe visit the ?Labyrinth?. There?s also a Palm House and a zoo, which I did not visit. The visit to the garden is free, so you?ll also see many people who jog around.
