Place des Vosges, Paris: 71 reviews and 154 photos

Located in the Le Marais, not far from the Musee Carnavalet, this charming square is bordered by lovely red brick mansions, largely built during the 17th Century. In the center is a park which make a nice retreat. In one of these mansions is the Masison de Victor Hugo. This is the former Hotel de Rohan, where the famous writer spent his time during the years 1832-1848. There, one can see his rooms including the bedroom he died in. There are also numerous mementos from his life and career. The accompanying photo is looking out the window to the square.
