The nearest commercial transportation is the Greyhound station in Albion, NY (585-589-5535).
And you have to go all the way to Brockport to find a taxi service (Brockport Taxi... 585-637-2840).
Enterprise Rental has cars for rent in Albion (585-589-6471) and they will pick you up.

Other than those options, your own car is the best means of travel in the area.
Routes 18, 104 and 237 are all well-maintained highways in all weather conditions. They will connect you to most of the places you want to get to visit in the area.
There are few street lights at night around Kent, so you probably should carry a flashlight in the car in case of emergency.
