"The pissing boy!" Manneken Pis Tip by smirnofforiginal

Manneken Pis, Brussels: 171 reviews and 235 photos

The Manneken Pis is a national symbol... and it is titchy! You'll have to be patient because everybody wants to see the little bronze boy having a wee into a pool..,. and then you'll have to be patient again because everybody wants their photo taken in front of the Manneken Pis!

So, the Manneken Pis is bronze and was sculpted by a man called Jerome Duquesnoy in 1619 but previous to this, from the mid 14th century there had beena stone one called "Little Julian". Who is the boy ? Who knows! He is either a boy who extinguished a fire or he is the son of a nobleman.

Manneken Pis has an entire wardrobe and has his clothes changed regularly. When I saw him he was naked!

His "sister" - Jeanneke Pis, suqtas in an alley on the north side of the Grand Place and a dog cocks its leg in St Gery!
