  The old Secretary's Office
by Tom_Fields

Williamsburg has a main Visitors Center north of the old town, and another one near the Capitol. The first is for tour busses and those arriving by car. Since I was staying at a nearby hotel, and walked over there, I used the one near the Capitol. This is a rebuilt version of the old Secretary's Office.

Here, you can get a Visitor's Pass. There are day passes, two-day passes, and a Freedom Pass which is good for a year. This is how the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation finances the upkeep of the town. The pass entitles you to all the tours, except for a few special ones which cost a bit extra.

Address: P. O. Box 1776 Williamsburg, VA 23187-1776
Directions: Take I-64 east to Hwy 143 (exit 238). Follow it to Route 132 (Henry St), and follow the signs to the Visitors Center. The old Secretary's Office is by the northwest corner of the Capitol.
