Do all roads lead to Adamas? Probably in theory not, but in practice when on Milos, it does feel like all roads do lead to here. Adamas seems to be the main hub on the island; this is where the ferry arrives, where plenty of restaurants are, shops of course, banks, bakeries. It is also here where the boat tours around the island depart from. And when you are staying at Provatas, somehow the road always leads through Adamas.

The village of Adamas was originally formed by refugees from Sfakia during early 1800's, so Adamas is relatively a 'new' village. Their rebellion against the Turks failed and the inhabitants of Sfakia escaped from Crete to the island of Milos. The rest is, what one says, history. Today, Adamas has evolved to the main hub of the island. And maybe that is not so surprising at all. It is located picturesque at the calm waters of the bay of Milos. It is maybe not the most picturesque village on the island, but it is quite lovely. And with all the facilities in place you probably won't 'escape' visiting Adamas during your visit to Milos Island. Hahaha, not that this is a bad thing. I think I was here at least once a day, and enjoyed it every time.
