"Queen's Apartments and Georgian Rooms" Hampton Things to Do Tip by Sjalen

In the far end of the palace you will find the Queen's State apartments which will remind you of palaces you have seen elsewhere, with wonderful furniture and so on from the time of Queen Mary, married to William III. Sadly, the queen died of smallpox in 1694 and the king was so sad he abandoned this section of the palace so what you see today is actually later decorations.

Next to it you will find the Georgian Rooms with a much more private feel to them. The royals last came here in 1737 so what you see today is from that period. Being more of a Tudor type myself, I spent less time here than elsewhere but I do recommend you to visit. There are some wonderful colours in the grand staircase and lots of little details if you have the time.
