"Fête de la Musique" Paris Off The Beaten Path Tip by hobgoblins

Paris Off The Beaten Path: 1,968 reviews and 4,171 photos

The Fête de la Musique arrives in Paris during the summer solstice in June, and it is absolutely not something to miss!

As evening approaches, Paris comes alive with street performers and music wafts toward you from every direction. This city-wide music festival goes into the wee hours of the night. Parisians and tourists mix in the streets, watching, dancing, singing, and celebrating. And best of all, listening is free.

I highly recommend staying in Montmarte if possible. This bohemian part of Paris is especially fun during the music festival. However, in 2004 there was a huge concert at the Eiffel Tower, so check the schedule and decide where you would like to be during this unforgettable festival.
