  Fire Hydrant in Mora
by Stephen-KarenConn

Favorite thing: I couldn't help but take a picture of this fire hydrant with what looks like an antenna on top. Those who have not spent much time in snow country may not realize that in winter the fire hydrant might be completely buried under a heavy snowfall. The red and white banded fiberglass rod is there so it will stick up above the snow to help find the hydrant if needed at such a time.

Despite cold snowy weather, winter is one of the favorite time for visitors to come to Mora, to take advantage of the wonderful cross-country skiing opportunities, snowmobiling, ice fishing and other winter activities.
