The Pineapple Museum (aka Muzium Nanas in the Malay lingo) tells the story of the pineapple cultivation and industry in Malaysia (particularly Pontian district) from beginning to end - from the early beginnings of pineapple as one of Malaysia's agricultural products, the roles that the government and private sectors played in the sector, through to the progress that has led to its present status.

There are sections of the muzium that focuses
- on the cultivation methods of the pineapple
- how the pineapple fruit is processed, from the field into the factory, where it is canned.
- on the different varieties of pineapples planted in Malaysia.

The Museum houses one of the most extensive collection of artifacts, exhibits, publications and information pertaining to the pineapple industry in Malaysia.

The museum has a small plot at the back of the building where various species of pineapple are grown for visitors to see some of the 18 varities of pineapples that are grown in the country. These includes pineapple plants for commercial purposes and ornamnetal plants for decroration and display purposes. Photos of some of the pineapple species are shown in the attached photographs...

The musuem is opened daily from 8.30am to 5.00pm... The entrance fee is RM2.00 per person...

Address: km52, Jalan JB-Pontian, Pekan Nanas, Johor
Directions: The museum is about 3km from Pakan Nanas town on the road to Pontian Kechil... it is on the left side of the road with a (again) medium size "pineapple" symbol...
