Amritsar Things to Do: 115 reviews and 272 photos

The whole Golden Temple complex is surrounded on all four sides by buildings and gateways. The main gateway on the northern side was first built in 1862 and features a Victorian style clock when the complex was under British control. This clock tower was pulled down in 1926 after the complex came back under Sikh control and the currently structure built. For symmetry, the southern side was also built. The northen gateway is where you gain access into the Sikh Museum.
