This Ca' D'Oro is known as one of the best-preserved traditional bar in Venice. Even though it's official name is Ca'D'Oro but most Venetians know it as Alla Vedova (the Widow's Place).
This is a traditional bar where if you stand by the bar, you pay for the drinks and get free yummy snacks, which includes a range of starters such as potatoes and peas, meatballs, seafood salads, and grilled zucchini, bell peppers and artichokes. This place is so popular with locals and tourists that you need to book in advance if you plan to sit at the tables.
Meals are served from 11.30am - 2.30 pm, 6.30pm - 10.30pm on Mon-Wed, Fridays and Saturdays. Closed on Sunday and in August. No credit cards accepted. Cash Only.
Favorite Dish: The italian wines and the snacks (meatballs, seafood salads, grilled zucchini & bell-peppers) were great.
