Mole West: "People watching" Neusiedl am See Restaurant Tip by coccinella169

Mole West is one of my favourite restaurants in Austria - not so much because of the food (which is quite good too), but because of the atmosphere. It is located directly at the lake. The building has nothing to do with the sometimes rustic architecture in this area- it is super modern and stylish with huge glass windows, so that you can enjoy a perfect view over the lake and see the sunset. Outside is a bar and a huge terrace with tables and chairs, and chairs directly at the water as well, where people sometimes spend the whole afternoon sunbathing. As I said already, food is quite good. Prices range between ca 6 EUR (for sandwiches, soups etc) up to ca 25 EUR for main courses. It usually gets crowded - some time ago our former chancellor tried to get a table there without having a reservation- and the waiter sent him away without mercy :)- so you definitely should reserve a table especially on weekends and sunny days. Unfortunately service is sometimes slow too.
