"Take the Van" Breckenridge Transportation Tip by jcbreck
Breckenridge Transportation: 6 reviews and 6 photos
Many people visiting Breckenridge choose to rent a car when they arrive at Denver International Airport and drive themselves up the mountains. Avoid this temptation and save yourself a lot of frustration.
Unless you absolutely, positively MUST have a car while you're visiting Breckenridge, I'd recommend taking a shuttle from the airport to wherever you're staying in Summit County. The shuttle services hire drivers experienced in mountain driving who can also answer any questions you may have about the area. They can usually answer questions for you about sites along the way also.
Parking in Breckenridge and the surrounding area is very limited. Once you're here, there a couple of taxi services, as well as a free bus transportation system to get you around. If you're staying right in town, most places are within a short walking distance.
The ski resort installed a new gondola (The Breck Connect) in 2006 which now takes skiers & snowboarders directly to the base area from town so there's no need to drive up to the mountain and pay the $15/day parking rate.
Some of the options:
