I got to know the manager or owner of this hotel and once walked in to look for him.... The place looks very simple but has its very own charm, it is kind of a labyrinth when you walk through the garden trying to find somebody or the swimming pool. The swimming pool turned out to be much bigger than I anticipated.... It's somewhat reminiscent of the Hotel on the Waterfront except that you have to walk about 5 minutes or less to reach the beach..... From the architecture it is also typical "Dominican made", without much of an upgrade in the past 25 years probably. Also a very tempting alternative for budget travellers and backpackers.... The lady owner is from Britain, he is Dominican. So expect "English spoken" and english breakfast even though you wonder why this place has its name from the Russian Czar Dynasty......

Unique Qualities: Nice pool for such a "simple and humble" place, nothing "outstanding" but you probably get a much friendlier and homy treatment than in the 200+ room mass tourist bunkers.....
