"Palladian Bridge" Wilton Things to Do Tip by Sjalen

Wilton Things to Do: 5 reviews and 14 photos

The palladian bridge is the most famous part of the magnificent gardens and I cannot tell you just by my photos how lovely it is. You are not allowed to cross it as the land beyond it is animal pasture but just walk along the river and turn around now again and you will have fantastically romantic views (see the other photos to see the effect). The bridge was built in 1737 when the gardens were re-landscaped. It is designed by Andrea Palladio and the design was originally meant to be the Rialto Bridge in Venice!

Directions: Just turn to the river as you exit the house.
