"Just too busy" American Museum of Natural History Tip by davesut

One of the must see's on a Manhattan visit but I just did not enjoy it. The reason really was it was just so busy. Queue outside in the rain to get in, to join the queue for tickets before you are in need of a drink/food and rest so queue to get inside the cafe before queuing inside the cafe. I spent less time queuing at JFK airport through immigration.
I know it sounds bad and what else can one expect on a rainy day during the Easter hols but it was a frustrating day. The exhibits were ok yet not particularly enthralling for the most part. Many interactive exhibits were missed by us as it was just too busy or noisy to enjoy.
No 1 Tip: If the youngest person in your party is over 11 years, try somewhere else
No 2 Tip: The Rose Centre planetarium was the highlight, get your tickets from the desk on entrance
No 3 Tip: Avoid the food court at peak times - take an early brunch snack
