Located at the eastern end of the Ridge, the yellow Christ Church is the second oldest in Northern India. The first cornerstone was laid on 9th September 1844 and the church was consecrated by Bishop Wilson of Calcutta on 10th January 1857. It was designed by Col JT Boileau with neo-Gothic elements and extended with the addition of a clock tower (1860) and a porch (1873). The frescoe around the chancel window was done by Rudyard Kipling's father, Lockwood Kipling.
