When driving around in the Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay areas I saw those Golden Bay Coaches every now and then. So I had a closer look at what they offer.
They have interesting timetable trips but also offer charter trips.
Operation centre is Takaka. But you can get on the bus at many different locations on the way between Nelson in the east and Collingwood in the west, for example Richmond and Motueka, but also a lot of smaller places.
From Takaka they have a service to Wainui and Totaranui in the Abel Tasman National Park, and also to Collingwood (where the tour to the Farewell Spit starts with another company), and from Collingwood to the start of the Heaphy Track.
Check timetables and fares on the internet.
If I have read the timetables right the times are not suitable for return trips on the same day, as would be nice for Totaranui and Collingwood, as all trips have only departures in the morning.
The charter trips could be an interesting alternative if you can find several fellow travellers, and then hire a van including driver. You can suggest a route and they give you a price.
