"No name hotel..." Kebili Hotel Tip by maykal

Look out for this mosque, Kebili
by maykal

Kebili has a good no-name hotel five minutes' walk from the louage stop. Head south towards the oasis and look out for a mosque...the hotel is up some steps above a cafe.

Nobody was in when I arrived, so I had to rouse a confused cafe owner from his mid-afternoon nap to go and search for someone with a key. A few minutes later, another confused man appeared, wearing pyjamas, and in between yawns, showed me to a room. Not the best room i have ever been in, but for 8TD a night, it was very good value (April 2007: GB£1 = 2.5TD). The shower across the hallway had some lukewarm water and possibly could have been a little cleaner, as could the shared toilets...but for one night, you can cope!

Unique Qualities: It has rooms with keys. There are windows in the rooms. There are also beds, with sheets and pillows. What else does a traveller need?

Address: New Kebili
Price Comparison: least expensive
Directions: From the louage stop, go straight on to the end and turn right...keep going until you see a mosque and a cafe on the left after about 300m. The hotel is signposted up some steps above the cafe. You may need to send off a search party for the owner though.
Price: less than US$20
Theme: Hotel
