Curry House: "Great Japanese Curry at Great Prices" Curry House Tip by richyoon

Curry House, Los Angeles: 2 reviews and 1 photos

The Curry House originated in Little Tokyo and has branched out to various other locations (all with high concentration of Asians). The ambience is simple and clean with about 20 - 30 tables throughout the restaurant. It feels distinctively Japanese (not-pseudo Japanese as in many other Japanese restaurants) and the clientale is mostly Asians. But what brings everyone back is the food and good prices. The curry and katsu (deep fried chicken, pork or beef) are very addictive. However, they also have various pasta dishes and other random dishes served with curry and rice (e.g. the hamburger steak or weiners and egg are my other favorite dishes). The restaurant is also very kid friendly. The kids meal are excellent and affordable ($3.95 to $4.95), and they have crayons, high chairs, and casual atmosphere that makes it easy to come regularly with the kids.

Favorite Dish: I've tried almost everything on the menu, and I haven't been disappointed. I enjoy Chicken Katsu alot, but its really the curry that I like. Its seems to go with everything on the menu. You have the option to eat the curry mild, medium, hot, and super hot. I always go with hot, but its not really hot. Unlike other Asian dishes (like Thai or Korean), Japanese food is not really big on spicy, so you don't have to be afraid to spice it up here.
