If you thirst for more modern art after the 21st Century museum, then head for the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art, located up the hill from the 21st Century museum, on the east side of Kenroku-en. The museum is split into two parts, one which house modern and student work (this is hit or miss) which you can enter for a 1000 yen and a second area that keeps relics (mostly from the Edo era) which you enter for 350 yen (or discounted to 280 yen if you see both areas). The museum?s most prized and famous possessions are a pair of bird shaped inscent burners. You can?t miss them, they are in the first display room all by themselves.
