The Glen Iris Inn has provided travelers unexpected luxury in the quiet town of Castile for generations (since 1915). The accomodations are double occupancy rooms in the inn itself or suites in the small houses/cottages on the property. The decor in the bedrooms is antique furniture with heavy doses of wall paper and color. Some of the suites have a living room; some of the small houses have a shared kitchen and den. There is a lot of pine and oak wood in the walls, trims, floors. Accomodations include air-conditioning (much needed in the summer), screened window, fire places (much needed in the winter), patios and decks. Each room has a full bath.
There are only 16 rooms/suites in the inn and another 6 suites in the other properties. You need to make reservations well in advance of your stay especially in the wine season.
The price is steep for all this luxury: start at $100 and up to $300 depending on the choice of suite and extras (like jacuzzi and room service).
