"Where Time Begins" Greenwich Royal Park, Observatory and Prime Meridian Tip by viddra

by viddra

Greenwich is famous as the site of the prime meridian, which passes through the Old Observatory. Greenwich Observatory, officially known as the Royal Greenwich Observatory, was founded in 1675 by Charles II, king of England, to provide accurate charts of the stars to improve navigation.

Among its other landmarks are the Royal Naval College and the National Maritime Museum.
