"Altes Museum" Museum Island - Altes Museum Tip by MichaelFalk1969

Museum Island - Altes Museum, Berlin: 21 reviews and 39 photos

A neo-classical building by the great architect Schinkel, resembling a greek or roman temple. Note the impressive horse sculptures at the entrance depicting hunting scenes. The collection hosts mainly art from antiquity - the temporary exhibitions are usually very worthwhile, too, often focusing on lesser known ancient cultures and their treasures.
