This hotel is situated a bit away from the centre of town in a residential area to the south. It’s very convenient for the football stadium, but little else. However if you’re driving there’s ample parking, and if like us you arrive by train you can get here on the number 25 bus (regular if not very frequent). We thought the hotel was good value at 76 euros for a comfortable double room. The bathroom was a good size and had the usual toiletries and a hairdryer, while the room had a TV and mini-bar. For 14 euros we had a very good buffet breakfast with fruit juices, cereals, various breads, cheeses, ham, eggs and pastries – and excellent coffee.

There’s a bar in the basement of the hotel where we drank after the match – reasonable beer, bar snacks and friendly people. There’s also a restaurant next door (which we didn’t try, preferring to eat in town) and a health and beauty salon)

Unique Qualities: If like us you're travelling to Alkmaar for a football match I would definitely consider this hotel as its location couldn't be better!
