When you like woodsculpture, you could spend one day in the district of Hang Dong, in the famous village of Baan Tawai. Here everyone is living from wood sculptures, furniture, antique statues. Just walk around along all the shops, every one has his own speciality.
Don't stay only around the shops, but walk around in the small alleys, where you can meet the real sculptors, who are working normally in the open air.
When you like woodscultures of Bhoudha of other antique or new statues, the only problem is; how to get this in your bags?
But there are many small offices of international transportation companies, like DHL and many others, who can take care of sending these to your home.
PS. When you return on a motobike, don't take again the Chiangmai hod road, but take right when leaving Baan Tawai, direction Ping river and follow the west riverside back to Ch.M. nice trip.

Address: BAAN TAWAI VILLAGE
Directions: From Chiang Mai, take the direction of Hang Dong, the south exit of the city, and arrived in Hang Dong, take left; 3 km straight is Baan Tawai. When you are on a motobike, it's about 15 minutes driving.
