Rick's: "Got there in the end" Edinburgh Restaurant Tip by BlueBeth

We were looking for somewhere to sprawl out and read the Sunday papers whilst having breakfast and we stumbled across Rick's. Bellini breakfast! What's not to like?

It was very quiet when we arrived and there were lots of staff in, unfortunately they appeared to be catching up on the gossip rather than attending to their customers. We were shown to a table and waited almost 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Rather slack.

I had eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead of ham, very nice if a little heavy handed with the vinegar. Boyfriend had pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Both lovely dishes, the bellinis were a little on the murky side but palatable and the coffee was good.

All in all I felt a little disappointed, especially when there were also problems with the bill.
