As mentioned in the previous tip, Bleak Moor would be a more appropriate name for one of the most desolate spots of the railway line - and just a couple of miles beyond the signal box, the railway line enters a tunnel. But, 'nestled' in the side of Whernside, the River Dee and tributaries cutting through the landscape, it provides stunning views across the Ribble Valley - and just beyond the Signal Box are the Waterfalls.
