Alta Niña Resort: "One of Candelaria's secrets" Candelaria Hotel Tip by zippee

We were booked there via a cousin. The five of us were given a room good for six persons but it can accomodate maybe more than that! It was a nice room for P1,500.00, with an altar and a Bible in the center separating the two beds suggesting a very calm environment. The CR is also nice, not sparklingly new, but it's clean, it doesn't have a hot and cold but the water is just fine. No cable tv, but the caretaker is willing to share his tv for the guest's enjoyment. There's also a videoke machine for a night of howling, err... singing.
Aside from the two big rooms, nipa huts (i think it's P500 per night) are also available. The resort has a huge open space and one can put a bonfire along the shore.
Unique Qualities: I would definitely recommend staying at this resort, the caretaker, Manong Noel, is very helpful and is always one step ahead in attending to our needs. He even looked for the freshest catch from the sea (which is abundant btw) for our dinner and lunch. He's a do-it-all guy, he can cook, provide all your needs (including the vest), look for a boat for hire, and you'll be amazed also with his stories.
The resort is just a five minute boat ride from Potipot Island, though the sand in front of the resort is generally gray, there's hardly any rock on it and the water is also clear save for some grayishness as a result of the fineness of the sand.
Address: Brgy. Sinabacan, Candelaria, Zambales (beside Trinidad Bay resort)
Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: The Trinidad Resort signage along the highway going to Sta. Cruz is the only landmark available at the moment
othercontact: Just look for Edgar/Niña Mabalay
Price: less than US$20
