A lovely inn situated up on a bluff so those with a room in the front of the house will have a great view of the Irish Sea. The rooms were very clean and cheerful with warm duvet covers on the bed and a nice touch of a tray ladened with the makings for tea or coffee. Very romantic without being pretentious.

Starting at 8:30am breakfast is served in the main dining room. The menu consisted of a full English fare with add ons such as cereal and fruit. The tea was hot and fresh and the breakfast most satisfying. Simon was served the delicious breakfast prepared by his wife Cheryl, in a festive jacquard apron which suited his personality perfectly.

Be aware there are narrow stairs to climb here so take care especially if you have mobility difficulties.

Unique Qualities: There is a lovely little bar downstairs on the first floor. It is manned by Simon, the owner of Courtney's and he is most happy to pour a nice beer, cocktail and he is even happy to learn how to make your favorite drink. We had a good laugh as he did not know how to make a "White Russian" or for that fact a "Black Russian." I believe now after a couple of trys, Simon can add this drink to his repetoire.

Off season rates are very low so if you have sometime on a winter's day head to Blackpool and stay at the Courtney's on the Gynn for a quiet and inexpensive stay. The Auto Club rates this Inn at 4 stars, a rating that I will emphatically concur with.
