"Hiking" Running Springs Things to Do Tip by ivegotbigbulls

Running Springs Things to Do: 1 reviews and 3 photos

Running Springs is a great area to go hiking in. There are lots of trails up by Kellers Peak, and a fire look out station that has a great view of the valley.
There is also a trail up by the boy scout camp that leads down to deep creek if you feel like going for a swim. You can fish down here also, but the fish are not very big. The trail to Deep Creek starts at the intersection of highway 18 and Wilderness Drive. There is a big empty lot there and the trail cuts through it in two different places (both legs meet up, when they do, just pick the leg of the trail that goes down. Yes, coming back this is a very hard hike, all up hill. All total its around 5 miles.

Address: Highway 18 and Kellers Peak road
Directions: take highway 330 until the 18, head toward Big Bear, make a right on Kellers Peak road, the look out tower is at the top.
