The former Town Hall was opened on 10 March 1883 by E.W. Price. The Town Hall was a popular place for the citizens of Palmerston. The citizens came here for socializing and the building was a Local Court, library and a meeting place for the then District Council.

A new Town Hall was build in 1954.
