Triumphal Arch: "The best steak in Beijing" Beijing Restaurant Tip by Chinaboy1

Beijing Restaurants: 709 reviews and 938 photos

The name of the restaurant is not displayed on the exterior; the outside sign (yellow neon panel) just says: Western Restaurant
The restaurant is under street level and is clean, simple, but with good taste and ambience.
Because of its size (10 tables?) it is quiet, with some soft Western music. The reproductions at the wall are French (Paris).
Prices are low to moderate. For imported meat, you have to pay a little bit more than for local meat.

Favorite Dish: I had a simple salad with Thousand Island dressing (15 yuan) and a Peppersteak (imported meat, 98 yuan). At last I got a steak that was well cooked! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside; the best steak I had during the three years I'm living in China! (comparable with Ruth's Steakhouse in the USA, but a little bit smaller steak. For the price difference, you could of course take two if you would be very hungry). Also the pepper sauce was very good.
The baked potato and the vegetables were OK.

Address: Wangfujing Dajie 26
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: The North-end of Wangfujing Dajie, opposite the Wangfujing Grand Hotel and 100 meters from the Prime Hotel
Price: US$11-20
