Nou Candanchu: "Nou Candanchu - food or drinks in Gracia" Nou Candanchu Tip by sue_stone
Nou Candanchu, Barcelona: 1 reviews and 5 photos
One day whilst exploring in the Gracia district we were in need of some lunch, so we headed to the pretty Placa Ruis I Taulet and checked out our options. The colourful sign at Nou Candanchu caught our eye and we decided to give it a try.
It wasn't quite warm enough to sit out at one of their tables in the square, and as the restaurant area was full, we decided to take a seat up at the bar and have some tapas. We all ordered a beer, and sipped on it whilst deciding what to eat from the tasty array of food displayed on the counter.
Service wasn't the greatest, but we were quite content, and could see that the staff were being kept very busy with the hectic lunchtime crowd.
Favorite Dish: We pointed out several dishes from the tapas style options that caught our eye, including spinach frittata, patatas bravas, chicken wings, octopus, and very garlicky mushrooms (I didn't eat them as I am not a fan).
The food was good, and the cold beer accompanied our meal perfectly. We found sitting at the bar to be a great way to feel apart of the local culture.
The bill came to 22.50 euro (Jan 2007).
