The Colaguas of Aymara origin were cosidered as warriors , sons of the Callahuanta volcanoe and they where recognized in the old days by the elongated shape of their heads , that they got deformating the childrens heads as they were born to keep the shape of the volcanoe were they come.
The Cabanas of quechua origin came from the depths of the snowshapped Hualca Hualca and they also did the new born head deformation to get them flat remembering the flat shape of their volcanoe
Nowadays , they do not make any head deformation and they are distiguished by the women hats as the Collaguas use them of white straw and with an embroidered ribbon and flowers on the sides;two flowers for those not married , one for the married and one black for the widows. The Cabanas usea wool hat completly embroidered with local animals and flowers, one star and the moon
