"Real Betis Football" Sevilla Things to Do Tip by FionaKate

Sevilla Things to Do: 1,019 reviews and 1,974 photos

On June 11, 2005 the Real Betis Balompié claimed the national championship title, with a victory over Atlético Osasuna on the final game held at the Vicente Calderón Stadium, Madrid. Two weeks earlier the Real Betis Balompié finished 4th in the national league earning the ticket to play the Champions League (the most important soccer competition in Europe) in 2005/2006. This web site aims at honoring my team, the working-class soccer team of my hometown (Seville) for this historic moment in a tale that already lasts for 98 years.
For those of you that are not Spaniards and therefore might not understand how huge is this moment, let me give you some tips to have an idea of what is going on.

If you are from the US, this is kind of what the Red Sox did on 2004, but obviously in soccer nor in baseball.

If you are from the UK, this is kind of what Chelsea did on 2005, but with way less money.

If you are from Greece, France, or Denmark, this is kind of what your national soccer teams did on 2004, 1998 and 1992, respectively.
