"Train from Glasgow" Edinburgh Transportation Tip by sparkieplug24

Edinburgh Transportation: 210 reviews and 196 photos

There is a frequent rail service between Glasgow and Edinburgh. However the trains leave from both Queen street and Central stations. The fares can be expensive and vary depending on how close to the journey they are booked. You can check train time, ticket costs and whether services are delayed at the website listed below. Disabled passengers who will need assistance must inform the railway company or station in advance of travel all details on this are listed on the national rail web page below. There are also to railway stations in Edinburgh Waverly which is next to the royal mile and Haymarket which is still close to the city centre but is a bit further out. If staying at a hotel Edinburgh it is worth checking with the hotel which station to get off at all Edinburgh trains stop at Waverly and most but not all stop at Haymarket. If just visiting for the day the best place to get off if visiting the city centre is Waverly as it is situated between princess street and the Royal mile
