This rightly goes under the town of Zoar, OH but it is so close to Canton that I thought it made sense to include it in this Travel Guide.

Tucked away in the middle of Ohio was a separatist religious group with German ancestry called the Zoars. Going into their community (Zoar, OH) is like stepping back into the 19th century. The heritage, daily life and livelihood and some of the buildings of these people come alive in Zoar Village for under $10 (under $5 for children).

There are German style farms and buildings, homes and offices, bakery, dairy and tinshop, and much more. Volunteers provide authentic costumes and activities to give the feeling of living as a Zoarist.

Spend at least 2 hours or do as we do and spend the morning then get German-style lunch at the local restaurant.
The village does have some places accessible for the handicapped but many places are as they were in the 1800's.
The village is closed during the winter.

Address: route 212, Zoar, OH
Directions: I-77 exit 93, go east on route 212 into the town of Zoar and see signs
