Once a year, the 21st of December, a huge market takes place in Bilbao.
It┤s the tipical basque market with farm animals and country products such as cider, txakoli (white wine), talo (corn made bread), all kind vegetables and products made of pork (txorizo, bacon, morcilla...)
It starts early in the morning and the party continues until the next morning, so I would recomend go there for lunch and continue on party all the day and the night, it┤s great!! If you don┤t have to work next day, of course!! ;-P
There`s another special thing this day, and is that a big pork is raffled every year, his name is allways Tiberio. So, Tiberio the First, Tiberio the Second... Tiberio the Tenth... Maybe you can return home with a 150 kilograms pork!!!
Directions: Plaza nueva and around Arriaga Theatre, in the river banks.
