Up one of the many little aracades off the Rynek Glowny (Number 45 to be precise) there is an excellent little drink bar called Panaceum which seems to be part of the next-door Kawiarna, Pod Bialym Orlem (The White Eagle). Now I can honestly say that the waitress here, on the couple of occasions I dropped by, has to have the best legs of any waitress I have ever encountered; and I've encountered a few - a fact in itself which makes the place worth a visit;)

Panaceum is a small, interestingly-furnished, little bar with maybe half-a-dozen ornate wooden tables and a couple of bar stools and whilst the beer at 9 zloty is perhaps not the cheapest, it is a pleasant little place to drop by, whether just for a drink or for an informal, slightly upscale, bite to eat.

Favorite Dish: No way can i do this in Polish and so we'll stick to a coarse English translation: the collar of pork with a local cheese stuffing served with rice and carrots was excellent. The "collar" of pork was in fact an escalope stuffed with the local speciality soft cheese (twarog?) with a creamy sauce and served with savoury rice and the CARROTS - lots of carrots, the frozen baby ones, but none the worse for that. Washed down with a couple of beers the 50 zloty bill including tip for having the best ever legs, as well as being a really pleasant and helpful waitress certainly gives no cause for complaint from this corner.
