The Alameda Primera is a broad street that connects the City Hall with Burgos Streets. It is officially known as Jesús de Monasterio. There is a second Alameda after Burgos Street, totally lined with highrise buildings of null interest and with a pedestrian promenade in the centre. There used to be a tree-lined promenade in the first one too (hence the name), but it does not exist any more.

From the Alameda, steep streets climb up the hill, lined with old looking buildings.

Among the many shops on the Alameda, one which is worth checking is the Turronería Monerris, which many consider to sell the best turrón in the city (in Summer they also sell good ice cream).
