Ovahe is the not so well known, not so famous, not so interesting "sister" beach of Anakena. There is a larger hill between them, Anakena being on one side of it, while Ovahe on the other. It is very small, and gets no direct sunlight in the afternoon (as the hill overshadows it). There is no Ahu, no Moai over here, but it can be a nice little stop on an island tour for a few minutes.
The red stone "wall" on the island side is somewhat interesting, especially as there is a small cave (more like a balcony) with stairs leading up to it.
If you park in the parking area, at first you may not even know where to go or what to look for, as the beach itself can not be seen from there.
Directions: See map attached as photo.
It is on the Northern side of the island, very close to Anakena, there is a hill between the two beaches (coming from Hanga Roa on the road: Anakena is to the left, Ovahe is to the right)
