Geneseo Off The Beaten Path: 2 reviews and 2 photos

Tucked away on the Geneseo College campus is the outdoor gardens of the Roemer Arboretum. This garden was setup to be both a teaching tool for the students at the college and an experimental area where local enthusiasts could test the hardiness and usefulness of trees and flowers for the community.
The Arboretum is open, free of charge, from dawn to dusk. Visitors are encouraged to walk along the paths, admire the beauty of the Genesee Valley, inspect the variety of trees and plants, relax and enjoy the view from the gazebo and benches. Group tours can be scheduled by calling the administrator listed in the website below.
The gardens include 70 tree species, 20 varieties of grasses, also herbs, flowers, swamp plants.

To see the arboretum, take route 20A to Geneseo and follow the signs to the college (you can see it when you enter town.) The arboretum is at the end of the south entrance and has signs directing you to parking areas.
