A View Down the Bosphorus From Anadolukavagi
by H-TownJourneyman

Located in the Beykoz district of Istanbul, Anadolukavagi is a small fishing village on the Asian side, near the point where the Bosphorus meets the Black Sea. There are many restaurants and cafes within the area, mostly here to accommodate the many people that arrive here on ferries for daytrips. Actually when we visited Anadolukavagi, we drove into town, knowing to stay away from the ferry landing area, where the workers at these restaurants try anything and everything to get you to come into their establishment. If you do in fact come here by ferry, I would advise running through the gauntlet of restaurants in the immediate landing area, and walk further into the town. The spots here are much better, and less stressful for that matter. Also as you walk around the village, you will see numerous old-fashioned, very attractive homes, many built in the early 1900's. One thing you must try to do is visit the Yoros Kalesi, a fortress atop the hill overlooking the village. It is an interesting historical site, and also provides some excellent views of the Bosphorus and the entrance of the Black Sea.
