This is truly a top of the line hotel in the Marriott chain. The service was exceptional at all levels. I was actually a bit surprised at how nice it was. Being a Marriott Platinum Rewards member and traveling all the time at their "normal" properties, you get used to a certain expectation. This hotel FAR exceeded any preset expectation I might have had. The hotel is isolated from any commercial areas, so you really depended on the resort quite a bit for things such as food - - and they don't disappoint. There are three restaurants on the grounds not counting pool bar area. All of them were exceptionally good with Azul, the AAA 4 Diamond award winner, being outstanding. Our room was on the top floor with a beautiful view of west and of course the sunset everyday. The balcony was spacious with a lounge chair, two regular chairs and a table. Also, there was a complete wall between the next rooms so you were very much private. The bathroom was equal to any in which I have ever stayed. Separate room for toilet, two sinks, bathtub, and two person standup glassed in shower stall.
Unique Qualities: The hotel sits on a man made lagoon which is wonderful. It allows fresh seawater in but is built in such a way, you really don't have to be on the look out for sharks and such. When we would go wading or swimming, you definitely would always see some sort of fish swimming in there with you although they were of the peaceful variety. There is also a very nice pool area. The hotel is connected via sidewalks with more Marriott properties and it is nice to walk the length of the pathways which total about 2 miles roundtrip. They also offer a spa across the street. It has an additional pool, tennis courts, and a basketball court. There is a golf course as well. This whole resort is behind a gated community and it is very very nice. When we were checking out, the NFL football players were checking in for there appearance in the Pro Bowl.
